MCPc's Brian Kinne: A VAR's-Eye View Of Videoconferencing

As A Video Guru, What Product Really Impresses You Today?

Cisco recently announced the SX10 [Quick Set], which is really quick and easy. It’s plug-and-go and I think it has the potential to change the consumer [market].

Now, their competition will be the manufacturers: the Samsungs, the Panasoncis, the Hitachis and whoever, which will start putting cameras and Smart TVs into Bezels and then loading the Skype app. So you won’t do Skype on your PC anymore, you’ll do it from your TV.  So, again, think what that does to that display real estate. Think about all the people who sit in front of their PC and do Skype ...  those people, not all, but they won’t be going to their PC to do it. They’ll go to their living room ... Right now its board room to board room, but pretty soon it will be living room to living room.
