5. IoT Opportunity Is Here

There's a digital transformation underway, resulting in a massive opportunity for solution providers that can help customers secure that shift, said Mark Bagley, Cisco’s director of product management. He estimated that the Internet of Things presents a $19 trillion opportunity, with 15 billion devices connected today and an estimated 500 billion by 2030.

However, he said that growth also expands the attack surface, raising the opportunity for hackers who are growing more sophisticated by the day. Despite that growing threat, the demand to protect infrastructure and data remains, he said.

"There is some opportunity inside of all of these challenges, which is that you can enable business growth if you think about this in a holistic manner," Bagley said.
