9. Linux Threats Are Real

While Windows gets a lot of flak for malware threats, solution providers can't ignore their Linux environments, Sophos Senior Security Expert John Shier said. While Linux is often thought of as a server operating system, Shier said more end users – himself included - are starting to expand their use of Linux. About half of the Security University audience said they also had Linux in their environments. That will only grow as more IoT devices enter the market, he said.

That means solution providers need to start paying attention to these systems if they’re in their customers’ environments, and provide tailored security solutions.
