Finally, Lipman discussed what the term "woman boss" means for employees and ultimately society.
Society is made up of stereotypes of the role gender plays with executives and bosses. For example, when employees were asked to describe their male and female bosses, the men were described as "strong" and "assertive," while the women were given more motherly terms, like "intuitive" and "neat," said Lipman.
To overcome this stigma of female bosses, men and women from all parts of society and industries need to reflect over these stereotypes, said Lipman.
"The best thing we can do is be aware and recognize [this bias] for what it is," said Lipman. "My industry, the media, has that responsibility too."
