Lipman talked about what she coined "verbal ticks" many women in the workplace have.

For example, women tend to say the words "sorry" and that they feel "lucky," while men attribute their successes to grit and hard work. Women in the workplace also tend to ask questions when making suggestions, while men give orders or make more forward statements.

"We diminish our accomplishments and give them to someone else … women tend to apologize all the time, but we're not sorry," said Lipman.
