The Power Of Women

Joanne Lipman, an award-winning journalist and author, says the current discussion about the gender gap in the workplace is taking place only among women, and not as a conversation between women and men.

Lipman (pictured), formerly of The Wall Street Journal, made her remarks Thursday at the XChange Women of the Channel 2015 event in New York. The event is sponsored by IT Best of Breed's parent, The Channel Company.

"Women have been having this conversation about gender and closing the gender gap among ourselves for sometime," she said. "As someone who has spent her entire life working primarily with men, it has always struck me as strange, because it's only half the conversation, and will only get us half the way."

Lipman, who is renown for her WSJ article, "Women At Work: A Guide For Men," discussed six ways - beginning on the next page - in which women can overcome this gap and win in the channel.
