7. Convergence And Hyperconvergence

In the quest to help customers rein in the costs of managing their technology resources, two-thirds of solution providers represented in the survey indicated they offer converged infrastructure solutions, while there’s a near-even split on hyper-convergence solutions. And only a minority – 27 percent – plan to expand what they offer.

Doron Kempel (pictured), CEO of hyper converged infrastructure vendor SimpliVity, of Westborough, Mass., told conference attendees that partners are driving 60 percent of his company’s sales leads, and he wants to increase that. But at the same time, he said, SimpliVity is “becoming a little bit picky” with adding partners because it doesn’t want to “saturate” the market.

“But we're always looking for great partners … globally,” he said.
