3. More Marketing, Less Sales, To Grow Business

When asked to compare their current approach to attracting new customers to their strategy of five years ago, solution providers said they have shifted the focus from sales to marketing. Fifty percent of respondents said they rely on a combination of sales and marketing to drum up new business, while 38 percent said that was their approach five years ago. Meanwhile, only 3 percent said they have a heavy sales focus today, compared to over 20 percent who said they had a heavy sales focus in 2010.
