What kind of impact does CentricsIT's work through ITAD have on the environment?

Our estimation is that we processed close to 100,000 devices last year through our ITAD facilities. That equates to savings from a carbon standpoint of the equivalent of 1.4 million gallons of fuel or 54 million aluminum cans, the equivalent of planting 300,000 trees, which comes out to 8 million pounds of carbon footprint that were saved. By our standards, we're a relatively small organization. As far as our impact on the global footprint of e-waste that's processed annually, those are some substantial figures … that I was proud of.

I do think that we are getting to a point where we are having a lot of influence. Being a global company, we don’t just work in the United States, where certain practices or regulations are in place where there's a certain social responsibility ... Nobody is going to leave a palette of equipment sitting by the road, right? We're doing these services probably in over 80 countries and what I've found is that the regulations that we have in the U.S. or in the EU are drastically different than they are in other parts of the world.
