The Top 12 Mistakes Salespeople Make

11. Not Having A Plan B

It's important to be flexible and be able to adjust on the fly. When your strategy is slipping and you're not getting the results you anticipated, you should decide if you need to make any changes.

By outlining Options B, C, D, and so on, before needing them, and customizing them by account, it's possible to use them later -- when Plan A is falling apart. When a hurdle or new information gets in the way, you can re-set your strategy. Be prepared for what happens next. Failing to prepare is preparing for failure.
