One of the bigger changes in the mobile device management industry is the explosion of devices, including tablets, 2-in-1s, detachables and — most recently — wearables. With the Internet of Things, SOTI has taken steps to deploy MDM solutions for wearables and smart watches.

For partners, that means there needs to be continued awareness of wearables and connected devices, and how to best secure and manage them.

"In some core verticals, we've been managing [wearables] for sometime, such as police services, field services, and military, have been utilizing wearables," said Vrsic. "The enterprise is showing increasing interest in being able to secure applications people are looking for on (a) smartwatch such as Salesforce, and limiting what type of connectivity those smartwatches have for corporate networks."
