Solution Providers See More Opportunities In Ensuring IT Resiliency, Backup
Submitted by Rick Saia on
What's going on in backup and resiliency that maybe solution providers don’t really know today?
PEGLEY (pictured): Keeping your systems up is good, but if for some reason they're running slow, then you're still not really functioning as a business. I think it's sort of morphed into this business continuity field and there's a lot to it. There's a lot of data to protect, there [are] a lot of real-time databases to protect and [you have] to do it right. It's not a one-time sale, it has to be a continually managed service, and that's quite challenging. That means looking at backup logs so that you do actually know that something is not getting backed up correctly.
I think where we've put a lot of emphasis … is two dimensions: one, in the breadth and sophistication of the offering, and then in terms of the investment, to have people and tools and systems to actually make sure it's all working.
