Dolan also cited the impact of demographics in the workforce on skills and training.

"You also have some people who are older in the workforce [and] a lot of them have done a fantastic job retraining themselves," he said. There are also some who "don’t want to retrain themselves and that work in an environment they're very comfortable with, and then you have the younger generation that just doesn’t have the experience."

Dolan believes IT will see a "blending" of both generations through a "skills transformation," in part because the people with the skills that IT decision-makers are seeking just aren't there, and they need to retrain their current staffs on the newer technologies.
