Spending: A Bit Below Expectations

Before the start of the year, 49 percent of respondents to the TEKsystems survey expected to increase their IT budgets in 2017, while 12 percent forecast a decrease and 39 percent predicted level funding. But halfway through the year, only 42 percent said budgets had increased while 19 percent cited decreases and 39 percent – the same level as at the start of the year – said budgets stayed the same.

But the numbers represent a notable change from the middle of last year, when 11 percent more organizations saw a jump in spending than they had predicted at the start of 2016. (48 percent vs. 37 percent).
