Halfway through 2017, about three-quarters of IT leaders are confident that they can deliver on core IT demands and line-of-business demands. But confidence in meeting LOB demands fell slightly to 74 percent from 76 percent while confidence in meeting IT demands slid to 74 percent from 86 percent.

In some cases, that drop-off may be tied to a slight jump in confidence at handling new initiatives, where confidence rose slightly, to 62 percent from 59 percent.

Channel take: It's been said before but is worth reinforcing: Solution providers with the in-house expertise can address the idea of stepping in to handle routine work while allowing the customer's IT organization to focus on the new initiatives if they're more confident in handling it.
