Hiring: A Bit Too Optimistic At The Start?

Before the start of this year, 45 percent of IT leaders predicted increased full-time staffing, while 43 percent foresaw an increase in contingent staff. On the flip side, 8 percent saw decreases in full-time; 13 percent for contingent staff.

But at the middle of the year, only 34 percent had upped full-time staff while 32 percent has increased contingent help. Meanwhile, 23 percent said full-time staff had decreased while 22 percent said they're spending less on contingent staff.

TEKsystems called the change "inflated expectations," and added that only 11 percent of IT leaders actually added headcount.
