The issue of asset protection is more nuanced, according to the survey results, with many of the business and technology professionals surveyed having no illusions about the dangers involved even as they voice more comfort with the overall cybersecurity environment.

Most importantly, about 70 percent say they believe security will be less of an obstacle to greater SDDC adoption by the end of 2016. Some 25 percent say security will still be an obstacle and 54 percent predict more breaches this year, whereas only 11 percent foresee less.

Solution providers should see that although cybersecurity remains a concern for organizations, it's not stopping them from adopting an SDDC.
