As The SDDC Becomes More Popular, Here’s What Solution Providers Need To Do

Execs Foresee Faster Deployment

As more businesses move toward cloud-based and virtualized infrastructures, 2016 could be the year the software-defined data center (SDDC) becomes a fixture in the enterprise.

In a new survey of more than 500 senior business and technical executives in mid-size to large companies in the U.S. and UK, 65 percent predict faster SDDC deployment this year, while 62 percent anticipate initial or broader adoption. The study was conducted by Intel and HyTrust, a maker of security and compliance software for virtual infrastructures.

Research firm Gartner calls SDDC "critical to the longer-term evolution of an agile digital business" that enables increased levels of automation and flexibility. Gartner predicts that by 2020, SDDC will be considered a requirement for 75 percent of Global 2000 enterprises that want to implement DevOps approaches and hybrid cloud models.

Solution providers should take note of how businesses view SDDC in order to create better sales and to-go-market strategies for the data center.
