DevOps Can Save Money Too

The mantra “better, faster, cheaper” drives business decisions. While the previous slides focused on the first two, speedier development can also save money, according to a study by IDC and AppDynamics, a managed services provider that focuses on application performance management. The study, released earlier this year, found that nearly two-thirds of those surveyed at Fortune 1000 companies expect DevOps to lower IT costs.

The study found that unplanned application downtime costs Fortune 1000 companies from $1.25 billion to $2.5 billion every year in infrastructure and application failures.
