DevOps Positioned For Takeoff In 2016?

The Right Culture?

A company whose culture has changed little over the past 20 or so years may be challenged in getting its people to embrace DevOps, which thrives on quick design, building and testing of smaller pieces of functionality, as opposed to the old way of developing everything before releasing it.

“Culture is not easily or quickly changed,” said Gartner’s Wurster. “Key to the culture within DevOps is the notion of becoming more agile and changing behavior to support it — a perspective that has not been widely pursued within classic IT operations."

That may be easier in a smaller organization, according to Clutch CEO Anderson, but tougher in a large business unless someone is leading the charge.
