CIOs Turning to Service Delivery As Purchasing Power Dwindles

Balance Of Power Shifting

IT spending has increasingly come under the purview of line-of-business executives (LOB) rather than chief information officers or IT directors, according to the Logicalis survey.

More than a quarter of CIOs report that LOB executives control at least half of their company's IT spending, strategy and decision making.

Some 57 percent of respondents said LOB managers have gained more power over the past two years, while 62 percent believe LOB managers will gain more power over IT decisions in the next three to five years. That's up from 44 percent in last year's survey.
