Speak in the future tense and prove yourself right
Green says human brains are easily manipulated into believing something that is yet to happen already has. She encourages solution providers to speak in future, active and past-tense when referring to goals as a simple trick for motivating themselves. Green says each person "craves to prove themselves right and to validate the beliefs we have already formed." So instead of asking leading questions with doubt, concentrate on questions that put your dreams in the past tense, she says. "It's not, 'How will we...?' and, 'When will we...?'" Green said. "Ask yourself, 'How did we...?' and, 'When did we...?'" Green also says employers should create a positive culture in the workplace, providing thorough and thoughtful feedback for employees, while also speaking positively, never discussing "losing," and rewarding business milestones in their companies. From there, employees will be inspired to assist them on getting to where they want to be, Green says.
