How To Tame Latency, The Silent Cloud Killer

Working On A Workaround
Organizations sometimes try to implement workarounds to conquer the 10-millisecond threshold, Rubin said.
To reduce network latency, enterprises try to keep their data on-premises and indefinitely extend physical data center footprints; others build dedicated networks to transfer data.
But such solutions can cost an exorbitant amount of time and money, and are hardly scalable, Rubin noted.
Yet there are other approaches – such as locating workloads as close as possible to end users - by which “cloud service providers have a chance to cure network latency once and for all,” Rubin said.
