Top strategic digital priorities for this year: Digital advertising and social marketing (each with 48 percent); and content development (35 percent).

Key approaches for 2017: Social media (74 percent), mobile (52 percent), and video (45 percent).

Top technology investment areas for 2017: Website (43 percent), content management (34 percent), and customer experience (33 percent).

Kauth, of BCM One, says social media and video are keys to her company's digital marketing strategy.

"I can't say you get results directly from social media and video," she told ITBestOfBreed, "but it all plays a part in that whole marketing story, which influences your buyer [and] our audience to think about BCM One and that all ties together."
