How Volunteering Can Pay Off For Business

Deloitte: Boost To Workplace, Employee Well-Being

In its study, in which it interviewed 1,000 U.S. adults, Deloitte found that a whopping 89 percent of working Americans surveyed believe that companies that sponsor volunteer activities offer a better overall working environment. In addition, 77 percent said those volunteer activities are "essential to employee well-being," while 74 percent believe volunteerism provides "an improved sense of purpose."

And apparently, volunteerism is better than a happy hour: Seventy percent of respondents believe volunteer activities are more likely to boost employee morale than company-sponsored happy hours.
