During the first interview, solution providers should make candidates feel valued. Make sure the receptionist knows their names and meeting schedules and that the hiring manager immediately comes out to greet them, he said.

Russell also suggested that the hiring manager should give candidates a quick tour of the office during the first interview so that they get a feel of the environment and culture of the workplace.
