Byer believes that wearables can have several uses in the enterprise space, particularly in healthcare, military, and law enforcement verticals.

"For some companies it will be a no brainer. Overall, people want that fast form of communication and information through just a quick touch, and I think watches will have several business-setting functions, like acting as a remote to control a presentation or looking at emails," he said.

In certain niche verticals, the wearable market could also have use for tracking heart rate, he speculated.
