Business Adoption

Though Byer doesn't see an instantaneous enterprise adoption of wearables, he predicted that the devices would trickle into the business ecosystem in the future, particularly among company executives.

Byer stated that it's hard to guess when that enterprise adoption would happen, but noted that the iPad remains proof that devices can eventually transform to include business-targeted functions.

"We were surprised when the iPad was adopted by businesses, as we didn't see an enterprise application for that," he said. "I think that smartwatches will take that next step into the enterprise in the future, but I don't see the breadth of business solutions right away occurring on the Apple Watch and other wearables."
