Large enterprises have invested millions in security information event management systems with IBM-QRadar, Hewlett Packard-ArcSight, McAfee-NitroSecurity and pure play vendor Logrhythm gaining the most growth, according to Gartner. But Splunk is the market disrupter growing out its security capabilities. Channel partners tell CRN that larger organizations are deploying Splunk in parallel with their traditional log and event management platforms. Other organizations are adding an additional layer of analytics to examine alerts and give incident responders a prioritized list of potential threats that need attention. Managed security services providers are also providing management support and adding SaaS-based log and event management services that are attractive to midmarket organizations.
