Survey: Young Adults Unaware Of, Unprepared For Cybersecurity Careers
Submitted by Matt Brown on
The Gender Gap
The survey indicated a noticeable gender gap when it comes to the perception of cybersecurity-related issues. For those young adults who said they’re less likely now than a year ago to choose careers in cybersecurity, 25 percent of females and only 17 percent of males cited a lack of interest in that line of work as the reason. When it comes to awareness of what a cybersecurity career entails, the gap is even wider, with 51 percent of U.S. men and only one-third of U.S. women having such knowledge.
