Survey: Young Adults Unaware Of, Unprepared For Cybersecurity Careers
Submitted by Matt Brown on
What's The Job Like?
The survey concluded that millennials would be likely to pursue cybersecurity careers if they were aware of what the jobs entail. Thirty-eight percent of millennials would like more information on what’s needed to pursue a cybersecurity career, while 29 percent of young adults said they would like the opportunity to meet someone working in the field. Of the millennials who said they have met a cybersecurity professional, 60 percent said they had a conversation with them about careers. This indicates high interest among millennials who are familiar with cybersecurity careers and shows that networking is an effective tool to engage prospective professionals.
