Developers Flooding IoT

Applications developers are flooding into the IoT market, with 4.5 million individuals active as IoT developers in 2015. This year, that number is expected to rise to well over 5 million. By 2020, that number will reach nearly 10 million, according to VisionMobile.

With an estimated IoT installed base of 21 billion devices by 2020, according to Gartner, and a combined annual global growth rate in IoT of 32 percent over the next three years, says Research and Markets, solution providers must start investing in application developers.

"Developers are the new baseline," said the report. "If you're not into developers, you're not doing it right."
