Intel To Dive Deeper Into IoT

At the popular Consumer Electronics Show, Intel CEO Brian Krzanich (pictured) showcased several IoT initiatives, saying the company plans to embed sensors in as many places as possible, with sports and fitness equipment, wearables, games and drones at the top of his list.

Intel showed off drones equipped with LED lights that were synced with music, and announced that Intel and New Balance were working on building a smartwatch specifically for runners, along with “smart shoes.” 

"Products purely based on new technology are in the past," said Krzanich. "Technology of new experiences is the product that will be successful. We're entering a new era of consumer technology, where consumers are choosing experiences over products."
