Although Millennials value others' input, they are actually less likely to seek advice when making work decisions than Gen X.

Even though they think gaining consensus is important, more than fifty percent of Millennials believe that their leaders are most qualified to make business decisions. Baby Boomers, by contrast, feel far less compelled to include others and are more skeptical about whether the boss knows best.

Boomers accustomed to making decisions on their own may find it difficult to shift to a more collaborative culture, according to the IBM study, which can cause tension between older and younger employees.
