Despite Differences, Millennials Share Attitudes Of Older Employees

Millennials Are A Lot Like Their Older Colleagues

Aside from having more technological proficiency, Millennials aren't all that different than their predecessors.

That's according to a recent study by the IBM Institute for Business Value, which compared the preferences and behavioral patterns of Millennials (ages 21-34) with those of Gen X (ages 35-49) and Baby Boomers (ages 50-60).

The institute surveyed a multigenerational pool of 1,784 employees from organizations across 12 countries and six industries.

The survey found that for things like career goals, recognition, employee engagement and preferred leadership styles, Millennials share many of the same attitudes as Gen X and Baby Boomer employees.
