Private Down, Public Up

True private cloud is falling. Only 19 percent of organizations run almost all their cloud-based workloads on private cloud infrastructure, down from 26 percent in 2014, the survey found.

Meanwhile, those running almost all workloads on the public cloud nearly doubled from six to 11 percent.

The hybrid cloud saw a noticeable tilt toward "mostly public" infrastructures over the two years, with 54 percent running at least half their workloads in the public cloud, up from 42 percent in 2014.
