Internet of Things devices took center stage yet again at Black Hat this year. One presentation broke down the security threats around smart lightbulbs, and how susceptible those systems were to attacks. Researcher Colin O'Flynn demonstrated in a presentation how the Philips Hue smart light system could be hacked, including bypassing encrypted bootloaders to read sensitive information.
