With two weeks before the nation elects its 45th president and the 115th Congress, Douglas Holtz-Eakin (pictured) will kick off the Best of Breed conference by addressing the state of the U.S. economy and specific policy proposals. Holtz-Eakin directed the Congressional Budget Office from 2003 to 2005 and was chief economic policy adviser to Arizona Sen. John McCain during his 2008 presidential campaign. Today, he is president of the American Action Forum policy institute, a conservative think tank. He has also served as an economics professor at Columbia and Syracuse universities.
