7. Hire The Right People

While it's a no-brainer for any business, hiring the right people is especially important as part of IT services management. The trick is finding a balance between technology and business talent in a new hire, Logicalis said.

"IT has their own language and business units have their own language and I think the piece that’s missing is the person that can bridge the communication gap," Alley said. "Otherwise what I have seen is ... there's no translation going back and forth. Strategies are great, tool sets are great but if the people are not on board with the strategy and have the communication and ability to translate back and forth they run into a brick wall," Alley said.
