While smaller VARs might not have to do it right away, Ledford argued that ultimately it will be inevitable for them to bring someone on board that is dedicated to compliance to deal with all its complicated ins and outs. Bringing someone dedicated to compliance on board will make sure that the company is not only protecting itself from compliance issues, but also its customers, he said.
"You're going to get to a point in an organization where you're going to grow and need someone to manage this. It's too disruptive," Ledford said.
