Be Prepared For It

The shadow IT phenomenon is not going away. In its survey, Logicalis said the 66 percent of CIOs who said they hold the balance of power over spending indicates that the threat of line-of-business purchases is forcing CIOs to change their strategies to better serve those requests. In other words, IT is working with the lines of business rather than fighting or undercutting them.

“I think the biggest lesson learned is [to] be open-minded,” said Mat Gangwer, operations leader for Rook Security, a managed security services provider in Indianapolis.
