Nobody has much patience for email downtime—a few minutes without access because of a server or cloud outage can send an organization into disarray.

As part of a business continuity strategy, companies are looking to the channel for solutions that control the outcome and minimize downtime from outages.

Thanks to vendors that deliver organizations the ability to access email through a Web-based portal, or even through their Microsoft Outlook in the event of an outage, daily operations can continue almost as usual. This is also the case with vendors that offer a secondary cloud service to fall back on, thereby ensuring critical data remains constantly available," Bauer told IT Best of Breed.
