How Is Gigamon Posting Record Sales? Part Three: Visibility

The third factor is the visibility problem created following the deployment of virtualized products and applications. While virtualization improves asset utilization and organizational agility, as applications and data move east to west or as new instances are stood up, visibility to traffic-in-motion is lost. Both security and network operations professionals are realizing this and are looking to Gigamon to provide intelligence and visibility into their virtualized environments.

Describe what your Software Defined Visibility brings to the table?

Software Defined Visibility (SDV) is a subtle, yet extremely powerful innovation. With it, partners and service providers can automate their Gigamon Visibility Fabric to react and respond to a variety of network traffic changes. It provides the conduit for a feedback loop that enables IT professionals to automate what are normally manually intensive processes including traffic rule changes, role and responsibility modifications, or the creation of new virtual machine instances. It can be used in conjunction with security or management appliances to programmatically react to suspicious traffic.  In effect, SDV is the long-awaited component to the vision of a self-defending network.

How will SDV help your channel grow?

SDV is a powerful tool that allows our channel partners and managed service providers to customize and automate a multitude of functions within their customers' networks.  Not only can SDV reduce IT costs, but it also can increase efficacy, performance and security of the customers’ environment while also increasing the depth of the relationship with that customer.

What else is in store for Gigamon in 2015? Any new products, services to the channel or partnerships?

The easy answer is "yes" to all of the above. However, being more specific, we plan a set of new releases during the course of the year that continue to extend our lead in the market, we will continue to enhance the attributes of our channel program, and you will also see increasing depth in our relationships with tier-one infrastructure vendors during the course of the year.
