What are you doing better than some of your larger competitors like NetScout, Ixia and Emulex?

The visibility market has experienced significant upheaval as many of our competitors have been distracted with acquisitions or substantive changes in their business model. At Gigamon, our sharp focus on active visibility allows our channel partners to offer technically superior solutions to their customers. Furthermore, we have a technology ecosystem of partners that leads the industry -- from Cisco to VMware.

We have a singular focus and through that focus we have delivered more innovations and "industry firsts" than anyone else in the market space. We continue to lead this market with enterprises and service providers that are looking for the leading solution turning to Gigamon. We are also in the unique position of being independent from any tool or management/security system which ensures our customers receive the solution that serves them now and into the future regardless of which management, monitoring or security solution they use.

How Is Gigamon Posting Record Sales? Part One: Security

Delivery of solutions purpose-built for the security market.

The whole security landscape is undergoing significant change, and despite a new wave of security products and technologies across the market, we believe a notable gap exists in the market that we are uniquely positioned to address – specifically, visibility to traffic and activity. Our thesis is simple – what you can't see, you can't secure. Traffic visibility is valuable in the world of management and monitoring; it is essential in the world of security.

We see demand from within the information security functions of large enterprises as they look to add visibility to their security architecture.

How Is Gigamon Posting Record Sales? Part Two: Data Center

The second factor is the transformation occurring within the data center.  With more organizations adopting cloud-based services such as Infrastructure as-a-Service, Software as-a-Service, etc., the demand on data center performance has never been greater.

As a result, data centers are being re-architected to take advantage of 40Gig and 100Gig topologies creating challenges for most application performance monitoring and network-centric performance monitoring solutions that are incapable of performing at these speeds. Our Visibility Fabric solution not only addresses these challenges but also provides a platform to "deploy once, and leverage many times" as our Fabric is able to concurrently serve a multitude of use cases.

With data center virtualization creating tremendous visibility issues, administrators are finding that they lose sight of traffic and traffic flows as they dynamically change throughout their virtualized environments.
