Opening The Event

Brad Rhodes, area sales manager for Nutanix, opened the event by introducing Nutanix with an emphasis on how the company's founders used the web-scale principles of cloud companies to develop its hyper-converged infrastructure appliance line.

"So basically, customers could consume virtualization like the cloud guys do," Rhodes said.

Nutanix, whose growth has outpaced even that of Sun Microsystems back in its heyday, makes it easier for customers and partners to build their IT infrastructures, Rhodes said.

"You can do (the infrastructure) with server admins and virtualization admins rather than with SAN admins, cloud engineers, or system engineers who will tell you, 'Cisco just announced a new update and so I have to test everything for four days," he said.
