What problems did mobile threats inflict on businesses in the year prior to the survey? Here are the “big four:” 35 percent said they needed more IT resources to manage mobile security; 27 percent cited an increased workload for the help desk; 21 percent said their organizations suffered malware infections; and 20 percent cited data loss or leakage.

The study noted that, despite stronger regulatory oversight and the passage of new legislation, such as the General Data Protection Regulation by the European Union, only 2 percent of respondents believe regulatory fines are a negative consequence of mobile threats.

The impact on solution providers? If managed security services are part of your offerings, you may have opportunities to pick up revenue by giving customers peace of mind – and maybe by helping end users practice “safe security.”
