How Can Solution Providers Ease The Pain Of IT Complexity?

66% Of IT Pros: It’s Harder To Do Our Jobs

About two-thirds – 66 percent – of IT professionals feel increasing IT complexity makes it more difficult for them to do their jobs. Among the top areas of complexity – in order – are: wireless networks and mobile devices (cited by 55 percent of respondents); cloud apps (cited by 50 percent); virtualization (49 percent) and BYOD policies (43 percent).

That increasing complexity leaves IT teams concerned about losing control of business transactions, as well as applications and infrastructure, Ipswitch found in its research.

As a managed services provider, Carlo MacDonald has felt the pain of some of his clients, especially with the growth of the cloud. MacDonald, a partner and director at VSS, a solution provider based in Madison, Miss., says enterprises are finding some functions that used to be simple – such as managing an end user with just one directory entry – have become more complicated with the entry of cloud-based services that require more than just one sign-on.

“A lot of the internal IT people don’t know what to do with that,” MacDonald told IT Best of Breed.
