Bova was spot-on in her comments about the need to change to meet new IT requirements, said Bob Nitrio, CEO of Ranvest Associates, an Orangevale, Calif.-based solution provider which has spent the last 25 years transforming its focus to services and now the cloud.

Bova emphasized the need to look at business outcomes, Nitrio said. "She reinforced the message I have be saying for 25 years," he said. "But this doesn't have to be one big transformation. It can be incremental. You don't want the customer to choke."

Nitrio's only criticism of Bova is some of her estimated time lines. "She's being conservative," he said. "The transformation is moving faster than people think."
