Successful tests of migrating specific applications and tasks to the cloud have convinced many end users that the technology is viable, convincing them to put the rest of their system in the cloud.

With the cloud, tasks that used to take months – such as getting additional servers online – now take just hours, Malizia said.

In order to properly service customers in the cloud, MSPs must have portions of their cloud that are HIPAA and PCI (payment card industry) compliant, along with access to nearly unlimited resources on a moment's notice.
