Microsoft Acquires IoT Vendor

Microsoft revealed this month its acquisition of IoT specialist Solair for an undisclosed amount. The Italian firm is a provider of software and services used to deploy, monitor and collect data from IoT devices.

"Solair's IoT customization and deployment solutions, built on Microsoft's Azure cloud platform, are engineered to help businesses in any industry utilize IoT to run more efficiently and profitably," Sam George, partner director of Azure IoT, wrote in a blog post.

Last month, Microsoft introduced a 64-bit version of Windows 10 IoT Core Pro, designed specifically for small Internet-connected devices.
